Where do we belong?Alresford parish is part of Winchester Deanery (along with Andover, Bishops Waltham, Chandlers Ford, Eastleigh and Fair Oak, Romsey and Winchester), within the Diocese of Portsmouth, in communion with Rome. From August 2004 we have been served by the clergy of Winchester parish, but despite close links we remain an independent parish. We are active members of Churches Together in Alresford. We play our part in the wider community of Alresford. Where are the churches? The links below should show you just where the churches are St Gregory's, Grange Road, Alresford St Gregory's welcomes Canon Paul Townsend..."Father Paul" was our Parish Priest from 1990 until 1998. He has recently been appointed Parish Priest of Winchester and of Alresford, and appointed a Canon. So, welcome back and congratulations!
A special visitorOne of the facts of life of being one of two parishes (four churches) served by a single priest is that as often as not we have supply priests to celebrate Mass for us. A couple of times recently we've been lucky enough to have Bishop Crispian himself as our supply priest, with time for a chat afterwards.
